A woman who unlawfully obtained benefits totalling more than £10,000 is due to be sentenced for fraud on August 5.

Laura Frost, of Rosehaugh Road, Inverness, has admitted fraudulently receiving sums totalling £6004.25 in income support and £4255.15 in housing benefit over a period between April 24, 2018 and September 22, 2019.

Appearing at Inverness Sheriff Court, Sheriff Gordon Fleetwood told the 37-year-old that he would defer sentence against her for a period, to allow a pre-sentencing background report to be prepared.

At the hearing scheduled for August 5 he will also hear the detailed facts of the case as presented by fiscal depute Susan Love.

Frost was allowed her liberty in the meantime, being ordained to appear in person in court again for next month’s hearing.
