A 24-year-old Inverness man who admitted a domestic assault will be sentenced on March 6.

Jordan Hooper, of Academy Street, appeared before Sheriff Sara Matheson and pleaded guilty to assaulting his partner or ex partner in his property by straddling her body, pinning her to a bed and repeatedly punching her on the body.

He also seized her by the leg and pulled her by the leg.

Defence solicitor David Patterson asked the sheriff to defer for a background report on his client who admitted previous convictions.

Sheriff Matheson agreed but also called for a restriction of liberty order assessment to be before her when Hooper appears again at Inverness Sheriff Court.
