A PEDESTRIAN was injured after being struck by a vehicle on the Raigmore Interchange early this afternoon.

It is understood that the casualty was a woman and she was struck by a car at around 1.30pm as she crossed the southbound slip road leading to the A9 from the roundabout.

A passing driver who stopped at the scene said that motorists manoeuvred their vehicles to prevent traffic from colliding with a car and a van stopped at the scene.

He was told that the woman was thrown into the air and landed on the verge where she was treated by an ambulance crew that arrived within five minutes.

She was then transferred to nearby Raigmore Hospital, but the extent of her injuries was unknown.
