A DAY out at the Nairn Show ended with a wife assaulting her husband.
While one of their daughters intervened during the incident at their home she was unable to prevent the situation getting out of hand, Inverness Sheriff Court was told.
Sheriff Margaret Neilson described the scene as “unedifying” after fiscal depute Susan Love told the court how trouble started after the couple drank a bottle of vodka.
Malana Copland (43), of Woodville Gardens, Nairn, admitted assaulting her husband.
Ms Love said Copland had punched him repeatedly on the head.
Solicitor Patrick O’Dea said his client admitted a previous conviction six months ago where her husband was again the victim.
“She accepts she must address her excessive use of alcohol,” he said.
Copland was placed under social work supervision for a year and ordered to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work.
