Tomnahurich Street and Kenneth Street junction is causing issues with motorists.

The Inverness Courier reported in February about a junction in Inverness that was deemed as 'extremely dangerous'.

Drivers at the junction between Tomnahurich Street and Kenneth Street are turning left on a red light, which at the same time is showing a green man for pedestrians.

The most common occurrence is cars coming from the Torvean direction turning left through a red light onto Kenneth Street by misinterpreting the green light signal towards Ness Bridge.

After our article at the start of the year there has been no changes by BEAR Scotland, the body responsibility for the issue.

We contacted them again for a comment.

A spokesperson for BEAR Scotland, said:

"Whilst the design and construction of the new junction has been carried out to relevant standards and subject to an independent road safety audit, we are aware that drivers are not complying with the traffic signals at times.

"We have carried out a video survey of the junction to gain further understanding of this behaviour at the signals and are now working with traffic signal specialists to develop options to mitigate this issue.

"Following completion of this process we will implement any necessary changes as soon as possible in conjunction with Highland Council."

What are your thoughts? Have you noticed a problem with the lights at the junction?
