Parents in the Highlands were on a desperate mission to find a 'bizarre' gift for their children this Christmas.

Prime Energy is owned by social influencers KSI and Logan Paul – who were boxing rivals and YouTube favourites – before becoming business partners and branching out to take on the likes of Coca-Cola and Pepsi.

The drink has been in demand throughout the UK, with limited bottles available in ASDA and on Prime's own website. Yesterday, Aldi released bottles throughout its stores – all of which have now sold out.

Parents in Inverness have paid up to £20 a bottle to fulfil children's wish lists over the last few weeks.

One Inverness mum said: "I have three children, who are 13, 10 and eight years old.

"The two eldest have autism, so when they become obsessed with something it is a very big deal to them.

"They wrote on their list to Santa that they wanted these Prime Energy drinks.

"I then started going to ASDA at 5am every morning in my pyjamas and they were sold out! There would be school kids wondering around at that time looking for them too!

"I ended up putting a post out on Facebook, and I ended up managing to get some bottles.

"Some teenagers had been cycling to ASDA at 2.30am and were selling them for a £10 a bottle!

"The whole thing is just bizarre - there were so many parents looking for them."

Inverness dad, Craig Ross said: "I was up at ASDA at 6am each day last week!

"We eventually did manage to get some though."

An Aldi spokesperson said: “As with all our Specialbuys, Prime was available for a limited period only and has now sold out.”
