Inverness man admits racially-aggravated assault in street
A 28-year-old Inverness man who attacked a pedestrian in a racially-aggravated assault will be sentenced next month alongside two other cases, one of which was committed on the same day.
Michael Stewart, of Bridgeview Drive, Inverness appeared at Inverness Sheriff Court and admitted striking his victim on the head and body in Telford Road on May 21, 2023.
Inverness man seen on CCTV picking up knife in supermarket car park
Doing a favour for a friend landed a man in trouble with the law when he retrieved a knife from a supermarket car park after it was dropped from the vehicle he was in.
Inverness Sheriff Court heard that the incident was filmed on the CCTV cameras trained on the Wester Inshes Co-op store and reported to the police.
A9 driver caught near Moy may have been under influence of cocaine as he seriously injured cyclist
A charity cyclist was seriously injured in an early morning collision on the A9 when he was struck by a lorry whose driver may have been under the influence of cocaine.
Inverness Sheriff Court heard that police failed to take a drugs swipe from 33 year old James McTaggart after the accident near Dalwhinnie on July 9, 2023, because the officers had not been trained to do so.
Inverness woman locked up after being arrested in Dagenham
An Inverness woman has been locked up after failing to turn up for a background report that will determine her sentencing.
Terri Kaczmarek (36) spent nearly one week travelling back to Inverness after she was arrested by police in Dagenham, England on May 14.
She had previously pleaded guilty at Inverness Sheriff Court to carrying an article or blade - namely a pair of scissors - without reasonable excuse in Drummond Road, Inverness on February 10, 2022.
Inverness thug smashed his way into a Dingwall house
An Inverness thug who tried to smash his way into a Ross-shire house with a nail-embedded wooden plank had been released early from prison after serving less than half its term.
But at Inverness Sheriff Court, 25-year-old Patrick Stewart, of Longman caravan site, Inverness was ordered to serve out the remaining 213 days and had eight months added after admitting four offences committed in Dingwall on April 19 - five months after he was liberated on licence.
