WATCH: We ask the people around Inverness what they think about the rail strike which starts today
TODAY a nation-wide strike will mean that no train service will be operating in the Highlands and the north of Scotland.
This comes as RMT members of Network Rail and other train operators have announced strike action to ask for an increase in salary last week.
Although strike has been called for June 21, 23 and 25, the reopening of signal boxes will cause disruption also during the days following the protests.
We asked people in Inverness city centre what they thought about the strike.
This, in addition to the reduced timetable which has significantly impacted train services in the region, will mean a very limited number of routes will be operative throughout the week.
Train passengers can find more information on ScotRail's website, about their journey by visiting National Rail Enquiries or checking with their individual operator.
