A heart-warming song performed in memory of two very special people from Nairn has been shared on social media.

Dancing IN THe Sky, originally performed by pop duo Dani and Lizzy, has now been covered by multi-instrumentalist and singer Natalie Logan, from Nairn, in memory of Hamish and Susan Hey, and to raise awareness of the work of Team Hamish.

Ms Logan is a former pupil of Mrs Hey, who was an art teacher at Nairn Academy.

Mrs Hey sadly passed away in May after a long battle with breast cancer. Her son Hamish died, aged only eight, from cancer in 2017.

Setting up a charity Team Hamish, after the death of their son, Sam and Susan Hey, with daughter Lily, raised thousands before setting out their vision and helping to fund a "magical" splash pad on Nairn Links. Work on the splash pad is under way.

On social media, Ms Logan said: "This video is dedicated to Team Hamish."

Ms Logan continued: "Shine bright Susan and Hamish."

Mr Hey said: "We were so touched to receive this video from Natalie Logan.

"Susan had been Natalie’s art teacher at Nairn Academy and recorded this very beautiful and emotional cover of Dancing in the Sky for both Susan and Hamish.

"Please take a few minutes to listen to this very moving track."
