CELEBRITY dance judge Anton du Beke is looking forward to his return to the Highland capital for next year's Strictly Inverness competition.

The message came during a 29-second video, which he filmed backstage at Strictly Come Dancing, where he said he can't wait to come back to Inverness because he had such a good time.

He added: "I had such a great time last year it was a brilliant event and everybody danced amazingly. I remember there was a boob lift at one stage, if I remember rightly, I can't remember who did it now but it went down very well with the audience."

Mr du Beke said he was looking forward to seeing the finalists and urged people to get their applications in. He added: "I think you are all doing it now, rehearsing and everything, so get ready and I look forward to seeing you – I can't wait to come back."

Wendy Morgan, hospice communications officer, said: "Both charities, Highland Hospice and Inverness Ice Centre, are over the moon that Anton will be joining us for a second year.

"He was an absolute delight this year, and had everyone entertained with his feedback on each dance. The audience loved him.

"I honestly can't think of anyone better suited to join our judging panel, he's just perfect for our show.

"If anyone is swithering over applying, get your applications in. This could be your chance to show Anton what you've got."

Applications for Strictly Inverness 2020 close on Monday, October 28, and dance lessons are due to take place between January and May of next year, ahead of the final on May 13.
