COUNTRY music duo from Nashville made a stop in Inverness as they spread positivity and anti-bullying message.
Juna N Joey, 17 and 19, are brother and sister superstars that are currently touring 75 schools around Scotland, England and Wales to perform their music and deliver a talk on mental health.
The popular pair have more than 1.8 million likes on Tik Tok where they share their music and light hearted messages.
They spent Wednesday delivering their performance to pupils at Inverness Royal Academy, about ‘how to make the right choices’ to protect your mental health.
It was the pairs first time in Inverness, which they described as beautiful and like a postcard, even though it was a little chillier than they are used to.
Juna has been singing since she was 4 and Joey only discovered he could sing later on down the line.
They began with rock music, but found country was ‘where their heart was at.’
The tour is a chance to promote their new summer single More Than a Maybe, but also to share their positive message of mental health and how to protect yourself.
Their speech discussed cyber bullying, body image, social media and bullying, issues they had also faced in school, saying that ‘confidence is key’ and to ‘do whatever you want, be you’.
Juna and Joey said: “It means a lot to us to be able to do this tour. We have a song called Anchor, about having that one person to keep you grounded to be there for you. It’s always been a strong passion of ours to spread the message of anti-bullying.
“To help a lot of people we did weekly live on Instagram with Teach Anti Bullying who we are ambassadors for. We talked with people about their experiences. We talked about stress, bullying, being scared to ask somebody for help. We’ve been through all of this and it’s really important for us.
“I hope the kids today took away that people can reach out and we want to spread awareness about reaching out. We make it an effort to respond to everybody through Instagram. I hope we spread positivity through this and people can be happier and smile more and hopefully they will enjoy country music!”
