AMBITIOUS plans to ease traffic congestion at a bottleneck Inverness roundabout have been unveiled at a public exhibition.

A new flyover is a key element of the preferred solution to improving traffic flows at the Longman Roundabout, connecting the A9 and A82 near the Kessock Bridge.

The proposed scheme, which would cost between £85 million and £95 million, also includes enlarging the existing roundabout.

Transport Scotland is inviting people to take a look at its plans, including a virtual reality model, and give their views by August 9.

The exhibition is on at the Caledonian Stadium until 7pm today and at Inverness Town House tomorrow from noon-7pm.
