POLICE are keen to speak to a lorry driver who may have vital information after video of a car crash near the Cluanie Dam on Monday afternoon.

Officers based in Kyle of Lochalsh are investigating the crash, which occurred on the A87 to the east of the dam at around 4pm.

"A video of the incident has recently appeared on Facebook," said a police spokesman. "Police are keen to speak to the driver of a large white lorry, possibly Scania make, carrying machinery at that time."

Video of the crash, which has been shared widely on social media, appears to show a car overtaking a lorry on a bend, resulting in an oncoming car spinning off the road and into a ditch.

People reacting to the video expressed their shock, calling it "terrifying" and "scary", and branding the road "hellish" for such overtaking incidents.

Anyone with information should call police on 101 quoting incident NP2994/20.
