PIPING Inverness has returned to Bught Park today as the sun continues to shine down on more than 100 pipe bands from across the world.

Crowds gathered from far and wide to watch the spectacular performances as well as Highland Dancing and the chance to taste local food and drink.

The European Pipe Band Champions are due to be announced at the prize giving at 4:30pm which people are eagerly awaiting.

The event has returned for the first time in three years due to covid-related cancellations.

This year's chieftain is High Life Highland chief executive Steve Walsh who is delighted with how the day is going.
