AN Inverness schoolgirl has hit the right note with her rendition of Dame Vera Lynn's We'll Meet Again to help celebrate the 75th anniversary of VE Day.

Milton of Leys Primary pupil Sophia Walsh (10) donned her father's old flying suit, hat and medals for a video.

Her parents Tracey and Steve were both in the RAF.

Sophia suffers from a form of cerebral palsy which affects all four of her limbs. A fundraising campaign generated £25,000 to help pay for a specialised wheelchair earlier this year.

Her mother Tracey – a Tropic Skin Care ambassador and singer with the Inverness Military Wives Choir – shared the video on social media.

She was in the RAF for 12 years.

Sophia's dad Steve was in the RAF for 29 years and is now chief executive of High Life Highland.

He also shared the video on social media and explained it was for the school's VE Day party.

Mr Walsh added: "Her cerebral palsy won't ever stop her from being a great singer and a patriot – so proud!"
