Footage seemingly showing part of yesterday evening’s car chase in Inverness has emerged on social media.

The video shows a car being followed by a police car operating its sirens and flashing lights in General Booth Road.

The car then mounts the pavement before heading up a grass banking towards Kinmylies Way but then decides to go back down the banking and onto General Booth Road.

The police car did not follow the other car off the road.

A pedestrian on the pavement crossed by the car is seen approaching the vehicles.

Police were invited to comment on the footage and asked if they were appealing for information.

Earlier today a force spokesperson said: “At around 6.45pm on Monday, officers received a report of concerns on the manner of driving of a vehicle in the St Ninian Drive area of Inverness.

“The vehicle was later traced on Hawthorn Drive.

“Enquiries are ongoing to trace the occupants of the vehicle.”
