FIREFIGHTERS battling a blaze at an Easter Ross primary school have been using all the tools at their disposal to contain the situation.

A large part of the Park Primary School site had already been razed to the ground last February in a devastating fire.

And the site’s remaining buildings appeared to be at risk this morning after another huge fire sparked a major response from the fire brigade.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that the building, measuring 50 metres by 20 metres, was “well alight” and that flames were rising “through the roof”.

The call came in shortly after 7am. Appliances from Invergordon, Tain, Dornoch, Dingwall, Fortrose and two support pumps from Inverness were all in attendance.

Earlier the Invergordon Fire Station Twitter account had urged people to avoid the area.
