WATCH: Discover Highland magic at Nairn’s charming Golf View Hotel

Arriving at the Golf View Hotel in Nairn, just on the outside of Inverness, was like entering the gates of heaven and simply floating on a cloud, sinking into a world full of relaxation and bliss.

There was plenty of parking, making it easy and accessible for myself, my partner and our canine friends to carry all our luggage to the door. However, Nairn train station is just a short walk away, meaning those wanting to commute via public transport can also do so.

Entering the lobby was like walking into a set from Downton Abbey. From the royal-like wallpaper to the elegant furniture, this was a lobby that screamed luxury.

We soon headed up the fairy-tale staircase to our room where the luxury only continued.

Our room was nothing short of breathtaking. Maybe it’s because I grew up within the busy streets of London that I was so blown away by the view, but rest assured that it was certainly value for money.

I was immediately drawn to the centre window that overlooked the sea that was on the doorstep of the hotel. The king size bed was exquisite. Its grand stature was the centrepiece of the room, glaring at me with its grand features, puffy pillows and delicate cotton sheets; I felt like a queen.

The bathroom featured a magnetising copper bathtub, as well as a waterfall shower, which also accompanied Highland Soap Factory products, so guests really can lavish in the Highland experience.

Thoughtful additions, such as puppy packs for my canine companions were also added to the room, which included a ball, poo bags, treats and dog bowels.

I am one to forget things while travelling, so knowing that I could just live out of a fresh bathrobe and all the amenities provided for me at the hotel was my idea of heaven.

While I could have just hibernated in this blissful room and binge watched Gilmore Girls to fully immerse myself in the Autumn girl era, I had spa appointments to attend to…it’s a hard life, I know!

My partner and I both had an hour facial with Ishga products, featuring organic ingredients such as seaweed. I sunk into the therapist’ bed as the soothing music calmed all my senses and I simply drifted away. After the treatment, my skin was glowing and I felt completely rejuvenated ready for dinner.

We dined on the Hickory menu which consisted of scallops, cured venison, fresh lamb, smooth beef, a selection of spring vegetables and of course, sticky toffee pudding for dessert.

We headed back upstairs to our room of dreams to sleep off the food coma we lavished in and fell asleep to the sound of the sea. It was idyllic.

The next morning we started off the day with coffee in bed and a morning sunrise in a hot tub that looked over the beach. The spa facilities were second to none, with a peaceful swimming pool, sauna, steam room and thermal experience. It was divine.

After feeling clean and fresh, we headed to breakfast in the conservatory where we dined on delicious fresh pastries, refreshing fruit and a hearty Scottish breakfast.

It was soon time to check out, but we couldn’t leave without taking the dogs to the beach.

The one aspect I loved most about this hotel experience was the accessibility for dogs to not only come along, but to fully immerse themselves into the luxury experience too. From the vast area they’re able to roam about in and play, to the individualised attention all the staff paid to them.

The grandma of our little family, Poppsy the Jack Russle, and puppy Labrador were treated like royalty the entire time.

Overall, my partner and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and this is not the first nor the last time we will be back.
