WATCH: Christmas dinner provided for 80 people at Inverness charity cafe

An Inverness charity cafe has held its annual Christmas dinner.

Cafe 1668 on Church Street hosted had over 80 people through its doors for both a sit-in and takeaway Christmas dinner on December 18.

Over the last 12 months the cafe has seen even more people coming through its doors, giving away around 120 meals per week; an increase of nearly 30 per cent compared to last year.

The attendees to the cafe spoke to the Inverness Courier about their experience.

An attendee who did not wish to be named said: “It’s incredible here.

“There is such a good feel of community and the staff are great. They are so supportive and it’s a place many of us need.”

Cafe manager Val Cooper added: “We are a charity cafe and operate through donations and people using us a retail cafe too.

“In 2025 we hope to continue to do the same thing and support people in our local area.”

The cafe will be closed for two weeks from December 21.

Hot food will be available at Inverness Ice Centre on Christmas Day from 11am to 3pm, provided by Caledonia Martial Arts and Fitness.

Ness Bank Church will be open for food on December 21, 24, 26, 28 and 31. It will also be open on January 2 and 4.
