Staff at a Scottish food and drinks company raised more than £3000 for Highland Hospice by walking part of the Great Glen Way.

Sales team members from Brakes Scotland walked the 29km from Drumnadrochit to Inverness Castle.

Area sales manager Michelle Purcell said: “We battled high winds, steep ascents and heavy rain on our walk, but we also experienced beautiful views, lovely company and the knowledge that we were raising much needed funds for our local hospice, which means so much to us and our customers”.

Donald Owens, regional sales manager, added: “We chose Highland Hospice because they support people in our community at such a difficult time in their lives by offering expert care and support. Highland Hospice is such a special place – I am so proud of our team and would like to thank all of our customers and suppliers who supported us in raising £3150.”

The hospice’s corporate fundraiser Lisa Long said: “Every penny Brakes Scotland have raised will be used in the Highlands. We could not continue this important work without the support of our community, so thank you Brakes.”
