Greater Manchester construction worker caught drink-driving in Inverness

Drinks with workmates in Inverness cost a 45-year-old construction worker his driving licence when he was banned from the road for a year.

Brent Connor, of Roseway Avenue, Cadishead, Greater Manchester was arrested after police spotted his car driving through the city centre on April 19, and stopped him because of the manner of his driving.

Inverness Sheriff Court was told that the father-of-two had four times the legal amount of alcohol in his system with a reading of 88mcgs when the maximum is 22mcgs. He was also fined £790.

Solicitor advocate Clare Russell told Sheriff David Mackie: "He had been out with colleagues and alcohol had been taken and he made a poor decision to take his car."
