Community-spirit has won out over wanton vandalism after the people of Beauly rallied round to repair damage to the school garden.

Residents in the village have been praised for rallying round to repair the primary school’s garden following recent vandalism.

Highland Council’s education committee chairman, Cllr John Finlayson, said: “I’d like to express my thanks to the Beauly community for swiftly coming together to repair and mend the school garden after it was recently vandalised.

“This act of kindness and selflessness demonstrates the strength of the community spirit in Beauly, and by everyone coming together to make good allowed the pupils to be back utilising this important space with little disruption.

“Donations to the school were also gratefully received and allowed broken items to be replaced.”
