UPDATE: Woman in court after cocaine found in vehicle

A 61-YEAR-OLD has appeared in private at Inverness Sheriff Court charged with being concerned in the supply of drugs.

Joyce Burnside, from Inverness, made no plea to the charge against her and was committed for further examination before being remanded.

Her appearance on Wednesday followed a police statement which revealed that a quantity of cocaine with a street value of around £50,000 had been recovered from a car in Inverness.

The vehicle was stopped by police on the A82 on Tuesday morning.

A police spokesman said: “Police Scotland is committed to tackling the supply of controlled drugs to the Highlands and Islands and pro-actively targetting those individuals intent on causing harm to our local communities.”
