Two people have been taken to hospital after a crash on the A82 south of Inverness.

The collision, which involved two vehicles, occurred on the busy trunk road near Dochgarroch at around 1.20pm on Wednesday.

The road was closed in both directions and police, fire crews and ambulances were sent to the scene.

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 1.20pm to attend a two-vehicle road traffic collision on the A82, Dochgarroch.

“We dispatched one ambulance and one paramedic response unit (PRU) to the scene. Two patients were transported to Raigmore Hospital.”

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said it had sent two fire engines from Inverness to the scene at around 1.23pm.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Emergency services are currently in attendance and the road is closed in both directions.”

In their latest update shortly after 3.15pm, Traffic Scotland warned motorists that the A82 was still closed in both directions and urged people to use an alternative route and allow extra time for their journey.
