UPDATE: Two motorists arrested after last night’s crash on the A9 by Newtonmore





Two motorists have been arrested following a crash on the A9 by Glentruim last night.

The incident occurred at around 6.30pm at the junction south of Newtonmore and six people were conveyed to Inverness’ Raigmore Hospital.

The conditions of the casualties is not known.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a report of a crash involving a car and a recovery vehicle on the A9 at the Glentruim junction around 6.30pm on Thursday, 20 June.

“Emergency services attended and six people were taken to Raigmore Hospital.

“The road was closed to allow for recovery and fully reopened around 10.15pm.

“The 52-year-old male driver of the car was arrested and charged in connection with the incident and is due to appear in court at a later date.

“The 44-year-old male driver of the recovery vehicle was arrested in connection with road traffic offences and enquiries are ongoing.”
