SERVICES on the Highland Main Line are back to normal after services going north of Perth were cancelled or interrupted yesterday.

Network Rail have reopened lines between Inverness and Perth yesterday afternoon after they were closed following reports of damage caused by a container on a freight train coming into contact with the bridges.

Train journeys resumed yesterday evening after an inspection was carried out by Network Rail engineers.
