Easter Ross ship fall man taken to hospital after port incident at Global Energy yard in Nigg

A man has been taken to hospital after a fall on a ship at the Port of Nigg.

Emergency services were called to the Global Energy yard not long after midday on Saturday to reports of an “incident” at the port..

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 12.20pm on Saturday, officers received a report of a 60-year-old man having fallen on the deck of a ship at Nigg Port.

“He was taken to hospital for treatment to non-life threatening injuries.

One appliance from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene from Tain at around 12.10pm, and the Scottish Ambulance Service also attended.

Global Energy Group has been approached for information.
