UPDATE: Serious assault victim (72) needed hospital treatment after attack in Inverness

Police are appealing for information after a 72-year-old man was attacked in Inverness.

He was taken to hospital for treatment on an arm injury following the serious assault.

Officers say it took place at 11am last Tuesday near to the junction of Tomnahurich Street and Montague Row.

Police described a male suspect as white, in his 30s and heavy build. He spoke with a local accent and was wearing dark-coloured clothing.

"The suspect was last seen running in the direction of Bruce Avenue," added a police spokesman.

"Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting incident number 1184 of January 12, 2021 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
