Invergordon serious double assault sparks Police Scotland plea for help from the public with two suspects hospitalised

Police are asking the public for help after a “serious assault” in Invergordon left two men hospitalised.

Both men - a 35 year-old and a 38 year-old - were arrested on suspicion of assault after the “disturbance” in the early hours of today (Thursday).

Residents in the Easter Ross town awoke to find access to part of High Street closed off, with police tape and cordons in place, after the incident at around 1.30 am.

Both men were taken to hospital for treatment, with enquiries ongoing throughout the day.

No further details were given and there was no immediate word on the nature of the two men’s injuries.

Police Scotland has now made a plea for witnesses or anyone with information related to the incident to come forward.

A spokesman said: “We are appealing for information in relation to a serious assault which occurred about 1:00am - 1:15am on Thursday 6th February 2025 between Clyde Street and the High Street, Invergordon.
