One casualty taken to hospital in Inverness after single-car A96 crash near Raigmore Interchange
One casualty was taken to hospital after a late-night crash involving a single car on the A96 near Inverness.
An ambulance and a specialist NHS Highland trauma team responded to the emergency call at about 10.20 pm near the Stoneyfield Business Park turn-off approaching Raigmore Interchange.
Two Scottish Fire and Rescue Service appliances were also at the scene with one using specialist hydraulic cutting equipment to help free the injured driver, who was taken to the city’s Raigmore Hospital.
A Scottish Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “We received a call at 22.20 on 22 May to attend a one-car road traffic collision on the A96, near Inverness.
“An ambulance and a Prehospital Immediate Care and Trauma Team (PICT) were dispatched to the scene and one patient was transported to Raigmore Hospital.”
PICT is an enhanced care team part-funded by NHS Highland that responds to trauma and other critical care incidents in Inverness and the northwest Highlands, operating from Raigmore Hospital’s emergency department seven days a week, 12 hours a day.
PICT comprises either a senior doctor from Raigmore Hospital or a rural GP, together with a Scottish Ambulance Service advanced practitioner in critical care.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Around 10.20pm on Thursday, 22 May, 2025, we were called to a report of a road crash involving one car at Stoneyfield Business Park, Inverness.
"The driver was taken to hospital following the crash."
