UPDATE: Motorists asked to avoid Kessock Bridge on A9 near Inverness which remains closed as emergency services attend incident

Motorists are being asked to avoid the Kessock Bridge near Inverness as emergency services attend an incident.

The bridge has been closed in both directions.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Officers were called to a report of concern for a person on the Kessock Bridge, Inverness around 10.40am on Monday, 5 September.

"Emergency services are in attendance.

"The road is currently closed and motorists are asked to avoid the area."
