UPDATE: Man facing two charges of murder in Renee MacRae case following appearance at Inverness Sheriff Court

William MacDowall (77) faced two charges of murder in connection with the disappearance of Renee and Andrew MacRae at the Inverness Court.
Mr MacDowall, from Penrith, made no reply to the double murder charge or two charges of attempting to pervert the course of justice during the private hearing.
He was committed for further examination and granted bail meantime.
Renee MacRae and her son Andrew (3) have not been seen since leaving home in Inverness on November 12, 1976.
