UPDATE: Man (19) charged for two robberies using a fake gun in Inverness

Police said a man was arrested and charged following two robberies in Inverness on Thursday.

Police confirmed that a 19-year-old has been arrested and charged in connection with two robberies carried out in Inverness on Thursday evening (May 9).

The first incident occurred around 9.40pm in Dores Road where a car was stolen.

The second incident occurred shortly after around 9.50pm at a petrol station on Longman Road where a quantity of cash was stolen.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Both robberies involved an imitation firearm and nobody was injured.

”The 19-year-old man is due to appear before Inverness Sheriff Court on Monday, May 13, and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
