Stagecoach Highlands has provided an update on changes being made to bus timetables in response to government advice on avoiding non-essential travel.

Following an analysis of the demand for bus services in the area since the latest lockdown began on Boxing Day, the frequency of some services will be reduced while continuing to cater for essential shopping trips and key workers to commute by bus. Revised timetables will be in place from Monday January 25 and are now available at stagecoachbus.com.

David Beaton, managing director for Stagecoach Highlands said: “Our services have kept communities connected throughout the pandemic.

"We have made the difficult decision to reduce some of our services in line with the stay-at-home advice from the Scottish Government.

“I’m extremely proud of the way our team across the Highlands has worked together to ensure that we can continue to deliver our services in the most challenging of times.

"They are key workers too and I would like to thank them for their continued support and resilience.”

In addition to enhanced cleaning regimes, Stagecoach has taken extensive action to protect the safety of its customers and staff with a number of additional measures in place.

Contactless payments are being encouraged wherever possible and social distancing guidelines are being displayed on buses.
