A9 traffic is flowing freely again near Carrbridge after occupants of two cars avoided injury in a collision.

There were initial reports of a crash involving three vehicles as police, paramedics and firefighters attended the scene near the A938 junction at 6.14 pm.

But the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed: “At 18:14 hours we received a call saying there had been a three-car RTC near Carrbridge on the A9.

“We attended and found there had been a two-car collision, but all persons were already safely out of the vehicles, with police and paramedics in attendance.

“We received the stop sign at 18:34.”
