Scottish Ambulance Service say one casualty in A82 crash at Lochend south of Inverness was flown to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for specialist treatment
A seriously-injured victim of last night’s A82 crash between a motorbike and van had to be flown to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment.
Emergency services were called to the scene of the accident at Lochend just south of Inverness at around 4.30pm on Thursday evening.
The collision forced the closure of the Loch Ness-side road between the city and Drumnadrochit for more than nine hours while police carried out accident scene investigations.
The Scottish Ambulance Service (SAS) has now confirmed that one casualty was airlifted for treatment at a specialist unit in Aberdeen.
An SAS spokeswoman said: “We received a call at 16:35 on Thursday, June 19 to attend a two-vehicle road traffic collision on the A82, near Lochend, Inverness.
“We dispatched one ambulance, a critical care paramedic (CCP), an air ambulance and a Prehospital Immediate Care and Trauma (PICT) Team to the scene.
“We transported one patient via air ambulance to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.”
Police Scotland have also been contacted for details.
