UPDATE: £795,000 carriageway improvements on A9 between Tore Roundabout and the B9169 junction
A CHANGE of plan to previously announced A9 roadworks around the busy Tore roundabout has been announced.
Work was due to have started this weekend but will now start on Monday (October 1).
BEAR Scotland, Transport Scotland’s North West trunk road operating company, is set to start essential resurfacing improvements on the A9 Tore Roundabout and north of the roundabout.
Phase 1: North of Killen Junction:
Resurfacing improvements will now start north of the Killen Junction at 7pm on Tuesday, 1 October and will last ten working nights with all works scheduled to be completed by 6am on the morning of Tuesday, 15 October. No works will take place on Friday or Saturday nights.
Phase 2: South of Killen Junction and Tore Roundabout:
Resurfacing improvements will then start south of the Killen Junction and on the Tore Roundabout at 8pm on Tuesday 15, October and will last a further eight working nights with all works scheduled to be completed by 6am on the morning of Saturday, 26 October. No work will take place on Friday, 18 or Saturday, 19 October.
To ensure the safety of both workers and road users, temporary traffic signals with a convoy system and 10mph speed limit will be used each night. The A9 will be open outwith working hours to keep disruption to a minimum, with a speed restriction of 30mph in place as traffic will be running over a temporary surface.
Access through the works site for emergency services will be maintained at all times.
