INVERNESS will host its second major pro-independence rally in eight months tomorrow.

Organisers are expecting up to 1000 people to take part in the Standing Up For Scotland’s Citizens march, which organisers say is being held to “highlight the fact the we have no real democracy in Scotland”.

The march will start at Bught Park and then head along the riverbank, over Ness Bridge and pass along Ness Bank and Cavell Gardens before heading left into Haugh Road, towards Castle Street and Bridge Street and back over Ness Bridge towards Bught Park.

Attendees have been invited to gather at 1.30pm and the parade is due to set off at 2.30pm.

Motorists should expect some temporary road closures (listed below) and the Infirmary Bridge will be shut. Fifty stewards will marshal the route.

Thousands of people participated in an All Under One Banner pro-Scottish independence march in Inverness last July.
