It’s almost that time of year again as the Highland Business Women Awards is making a return.

Sponsored by Safekab, the annual ceremony is an opportunity to celebrate females who are excelling in their sectors and making a difference in their community and local economy.

With nine awards up for grabs, there is certainly something for everyone who wants to take part. The prestigious ceremony will take place on Thursday, August 22 at the Drumossie Hotel.

A returning category at this year’s ceremony is the new business of the year award which is being sponsored by Business Gateway.

This award is open to members and non-members of HBW whose business has been in operation for three years or less. Judges will look at the originality of the business idea and a promising marketing and business development strategy.

Danny Gallagher, Business Gateway manager said: “Business Gateway is Scotland’s biggest business support service, the service in Highland is a long-term supporter of the Highland Business Women Awards.

“We recognise the importance of celebrating our local female entrepreneurs, who have a crucial part to play in the growth of the Highland economy.

“As the only recognised support service for start-up businesses, we are delighted to sponsor the Highland Business Women - new business award.”

The new business of the year award was won by Joy Recruitment Services at last year’s ceremony.

On winning the award founder Joy Oliver said: “I am extremely proud to have won. Winning new business of the year will open new doors, it will help us gain new clients and candidates to work with, which will further the growth of our very busy agency.

“I have found that since we have won the award, selling Joy Recruitment Services has been much simpler. I can sense that clients instantly have respect for how hard we have worked and can recognise that we are a trusted, local labour supplier looking to offer an honest and reliable service on which they can rely on. I would like to thank HBW board members for the opportunity!”

Applications for this year’s Awards will close at midnight on Sunday, June 30 2024.
