An unsuspecting combination of services is the first of its kind to open in Inverness.

Molly’s, based on Academy Street, is both a laundrette and coffee shop. Those who are washing their belongings can enjoy a beverage and a bite to eat while they wait.

Opened earlier last month, the business has already proven to be a hit with tourists and small businesses. Not only is it offering services, but it has also become a hub for cultural exchange.

Speaking about the new venue, manager Marcin Sitarz said: “It’s going really well so far. We have had many tourists and it’s great getting to speak to them and chat. There are people from everywhere so it’s really nice to hear their views and opinions on different things.

“I don’t think there is anywhere like this. We really wanted to offer a laundrette that had more space for people to wait.

“We even have Wi-Fi and TVs so people can work if they need to when they are in.”

Having formerly been a deli, the premises that Molly’s is in has been refurbished in order to provide this new offering.

Mr Sitarz added: “We saw there was an opening in the market for people to walk-in laundry especially for tourists.

“They can have a seat and a coffee and catch their internet.

“We hope it’s going to work in Inverness and we don’t see why it won’t!”

People are welcome to pop in for a coffee even if they aren’t doing their laundry. Molly’s is open 8am until 6pm, seven days a week.
