Unprovoked attack in Inverness Railway Station being investigated by police

AN unprovoked attack in Inverness Railway Station is being investigated by police.

British Transport Police has appealed for information after a man was attacked by another man on platform seven on Friday evening.

There was no apparent reason for the 9pm attack, said officers.

The victim was taken to Raigmore Hospital and released after treatment.

The suspect is about 6ft 2in, of stocky build and with short dark hair.

He was wearing a high-visibility t-shirt with a horizontal reflective strip, dark trousers and dark shoes with white soles, and was carrying a small dark holdall.

"CCTV from the station is being reviewed in an effort to identify the man responsible - who left the station immediately after the incident," said a spokesman for British Transport Police.
