A small protest by Unison union members was held outside Raigmore Hospital today, calling for a pay rise for NHS staff.

The union wants the Scottish Government’s to reopen a three-year pay deal agreed before the coronavirus crisis struck.

While other public sector workers including teachers, doctors and dentists received a pay rise as coronavirus restrictions eased, nurses and other healthcare workers were denied an increase because of the previously agreed deals.

Unions have argued the terms of that deal amount to a real-terms drop in pay for their members.

Today's protest followed a larger gathering held at Falcon Square in Inverness earlier this month.
