Sheep have been spotted in an Inverness housing estate.

A flock of sheep have given up on wintering in fields and have decided to drop by an Inverness housing estate for some better grass.

About 20 sheep were found wandering about on Essich Gardens, off the Essich Road earlier today.

Resident Gwenn Oldroyd posted a picture on social media, she said: "Odd one, but has any farmer lost their sheep? They were in Essich gardens."

She told the Courier: "I was more worried for dog walkers with dogs off the leads in case they attacked the sheep."

She continued: "I have lived there for 10 years and I have never seen any sheep on the estate before."
