The collision occurred near Daviot at around 4.40pm. The road was not closed following the crash. Traffic Scotland said the collision had restricted the northbound carriageway but added that the southbound one was said to be “coping well”.

Emergency services attended the scene. The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service deployed two fire engines from Inverness to assist. They were on site by 4.51pm but their involvement was no longer required by 5.19pm and they left the scene by 5.25pm.

It is not known if anyone was injured.

Speaking shortly before 5pm, a Traffic Scotland spokesperson advised drivers to approach with caution. They said: “The A9 at Daviot is restricted in northbound due to a road traffic accident, road users are advised to approach with caution.”
