Tulloch Homes is to continue construction of new homes at sites across Inverness this year.

Tulloch was founded in Nairn as a joinery business in 1925 by Alexander Tulloch and now has a £50 million turnover.

New homes, with asking prices of up to £559,000, will be launched at the end of this month at The Maples – the first development on Ness Side for which Tulloch last year received planning consent for almost 800 homes.

It will be the largest new-build housing site in the city over the next 20 years.

In addition Tulloch will launch its exclusive new development in the grounds of Drummondhill Mansion in Lochardil, Inverness, in March and it is planned for the new Leys Green development to come on stream this year along with phases at Wester Inshes, The Parks and Fairview.

New developments in Forres, Kirkhill, Culbokie, Carrbridge, Newtonmore and Aviemore will also be rolled out in the first half of 2020, with Black Isle developments at Braes of Conon and Broomhill, Muir of Ord, continuing.

Chief executive George Fraser said enquiries about The Maples development, off Dores Road, had been “extremely encouraging” and it would include The Executive Collection series of four and five bedroom homes.

He added: “Our most expensive house previously was £550,000 for one at Fairways, some 10 years ago. That record is finally set to go – for the prestigious quality and unmatched specification which we are providing on this superb location.

“As the total development rolls out, we will be offering homes below the £200,000 mark – in addition to 200 affordable homes, the biggest single contribution towards Highland Council reaching its target in the affordable sector.”

Mr Fraser predicted stability in the housing market through 2020 and added: “The economic growth of Inverness and its university, along with impending CityDeal investment and infrastructure gains, will fuel continued housing demand in and around the city.”

Tulloch Homes employs 160 people directly and around 600 sub-contractors.
