Pat's guitar was broken during a session in MacGregor's Bar.

A music session in Inverness was brought to an abrupt stop when one of the musician's instruments was broken.

While the session was in full flow, Pat one of the players managed to break his guitar.

But, possibly as a comment on the musician's art, a quick fundraiser gathered the money for the repair.

In a post on social media MacGregor's said: "The session was in full flow; the tunes and songs were flying and the bar was bouncing.

"And then…there was the sound of crashing and strings pinging, and silence descended upon the bar.

"Poor Pat’s guitar had fallen and the neck was snapped off! There was genuine shock and then an amazing thing happened ….a pint glass was passed around the bar with everyone chipping in to help Pat with the repairs.

"Truly restores your faith in human kindness!"
