Travellers are still at their unauthorised camp in Culloden.

They were first spotted near to the Culloden roundabout, at Culloden West, yesterday morning.

Officers from Highland Council are set to speak with those involved now that the authority has been made aware of the situation.

A council spokesman said: “The Highland Council is aware of the unauthorised Gypsy/traveller encampment at Culloden West.

"Our staff are liaising with the people involved and progress the ‘Policy on supporting cooperation and managing unauthorised camps’ which sets out the multi-agency responsibilities and arrangements for responding to roadside encampments.

"A copy of the policy can be viewed on our website.”
