North rail disruption after ticket inspector falls ill

Some Scotrail services north of Inverness were disrupted last night after a conductor fell ill.

The 10.21 pm Tain to Inverness train was cancelled among other delays, with a replacement bus service laid on to take passengers back to Inverness 15 minutes late.

Message boards at stations informed waiting passengers that the ScotRail staff member had been reported ill.
