Scottish Water confirms Nairn residents have been hit by a water cut following reports of a burst main in the Highland town
Residents in parts of Nairn have been hit by a water cut following a burst main in the town.
Scottish Water said it was preparing to send engineers to investigate the issue in an update at 9.40am.
But local reports suggest that a pipe is burst in the area of Old Bar Road.
It is not known how many residents in the town are affected by the disruption.
Confirming the incident, a Scottish Water spokesperson said: "We’re aware of reports of a water supply interruption affecting customers in Nairn. Our team are preparing to investigate the issue and aim to be on site as soon as possible.
"We understand the inconvenience this may cause and are working quickly to identify the cause and restore service.
