Highland man John Bedwell, from Lentran west of Inverness, wins brand new Volvo EX30 Ultra electric car worth £42,000 in online competition from online automotive marketplace Autotrader
A retired businessman from Lentran is over the moon after winning a brand new £42,000 electric car in a free online competition.
John Bedwell claimed the huge prize after entering online automotive marketplace Autotrader’s Electric Car giveaway.
John who is a retired management consultant finally landed the top prize of a Volvo EX30 Ultra after several attempts entering Autotrader’s prize draw.
And he said the win could not have come at a better time - after a heart bypass earlier this year limited his ability to travel until now.
“It was an unexpected surprise for me when I found out that I won as I’ve only ever been used to winning a small amount here and there from the lottery!” he said.
“I’ve been entering the electric car giveaway each month for the past 18 months and when I got told I had won it was a great and quite unique feeling!
“Receiving the keys to the car was a real joy and couldn’t have come at a better time for my wife and I. I had heart bypass surgery early this year which limited our ability to travel far so we’ll now be able to enjoy the new car, its range and everything else it has to offer on longer trips to see places, friends and family across the UK.”
As part of the win, and to him John settle in as easily as possible with his new electric car, John has also received a contribution of up to £1300 towards his insurance courtesy of MoneySuperMarket and a home electric vehicle charger worth £1100.
His new Volvo EX30 Ultra features up to 279 miles of electric range, 315kW of power along with a max torque of 315, and a 12.3in centre display in the interior.
